Sagabay Restaurant

Saga Bay is a lakeside restaurant, bar, and beach club right on the shore of Lake Kivu in Gisenyi. Sun beds and umbrellas line the sand, decks extend out over the water, and boats or water taxis can pull right up to the dock — making it as much a beach destination as a place to eat.

The kitchen runs on fresh Lake Kivu tilapia, charcoal brochettes, wood-oven pizza, and Rwandan classics, backed by a menu of nearly 400 dishes and drinks, including around 50 cocktails. Whole goat nyama choma is available with a day’s notice, and takeaway or delivery covers Gisenyi.

Evenings bring live music every Thursday, while Saga Bay Club takes over Friday and Saturday nights with resident DJs and bottle service — a regular stop for both sunset dinners and late-night weekends on the lake.
